PAPARAN TRAUMA PADA JURNALIS MEDIA PENYIARAN TERLIBAT PELIPUTAN BENCANA ERUPSI GUNUNG API

Meskipun prevalensi erupsi gunung api lebih sedikit dibanding bencana alam lain di Indonesia, namun bencana ini memiliki efek destruktif dan membahayakan keselamatan jurnalis cukup besar. Selain itu, peliputan bencana ini juga berpotensi menimbulkan paparan situasi traumatis menerus bagi jurnalis selama peliputan. Sayangnya studi tentang paparan trauma bagi jurnalis yang meliput erupsi masih terbatas. Penelitian ini mengelaborasi paparan trauma pada jurnalis media penyiaran yang terlibat meliput bencana erupsi gunung api Merapi, Kelud dan Bromo. Erupsi dari tiga gunung tersebut menarik perhatian media untuk memberitakan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan jurnalis yang meliput erupsi gunung api berpotensi mengalami gejala yang mengarah pada Acute Traumatic Syndrome and Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder selama dan setelah peliputan. Selain itu, media seharusnya mempersiapkan jurnalisnya sebelum menerjunkan dalam liputan berbahaya ini.References
