Some forms of public criticism that are not supported by accurate information are identified as disinformation, thereby shaping negative narratives toward the government. The @indonesiabaik.id Instagram account functions as one of the government’s strategic tools to counter these negative narratives. This study aims to analyze the political communication strategies employed by @indonesiabaik.id in constructing digital counter-narratives. Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) from Fairclough (1989) is used as both the theoretical framework and the methodological approach. The data consist of 241 Instagram posts published between November 2025 and February 2026. Using purposive sampling, five posts representing variations of @indonesiabaik.id’s counter-narrative strategies were selected for analysis. The data were then analyzed qualitatively, with the units of analysis including textual, visual, and discursive elements embedded in each post. The findings reveal that @indonesiabaik.id implements three primary counter-narrative strategies: (1) preventive education, by presenting the government’s version of information before opposing narratives spread widely; (2) Implicit clarification, by indirectly refuting misinformation through content; and (3) issue diversion, by shifting public attention toward other governmental achievements. This study interpretatively suggests that while @indonesiabaik.id plays a significant role in the digital narrative arena, its predominantly defensive and top-down communication style may be perceived as propagandistic rather than fostering dialogical engagement with the public.</em></div> Aldiyan Ramadhan Copyright (c) 2026 MASSIVE: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://massive.respati.ac.id/index.php/massive/article/view/279 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0000
